Starfield is More Than Skyrim Reskin, Xbox Game Studios Head Says

The head of Xbox Game Studios has provided some information about Starfield. The game will not be a Skyrim reskin.

Despite complaints about the technical condition of Bethesda's games shortly after their release (and even several years after their debut), millions of gamers are waiting for the studio's next titles. A perfect example is Starfield, which was supposed to hit the market on November 11 this year, but ultimately will only be released in at least a few months. Some information about the game was dropped by Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios.

A few words about Starfield

In the Friends Per Second podcast on the Skill Up channel on YouTube featured Matt Booty, who was asked questions related to Halo, Game Pass and, of course Starfield. The game is often referred to colloquially as Skyrim in space, but for the head of Xbox Game Studios it is something far more ambitious. At one point, a question was raised:

"Do you think it's Skyrim in space? If it's not Skyrim in space, then what do you think this game be?"

Matt Booty responded as follows:

"For two and a half years I had the chance to spend time with Todd Howard and watch him work. I am convinced that he is not going to just sit down and make a game on something that has already been built. This is not his approach and he is not going to resort to reskinning."

Later in the interview, the podcast's guest admitted that he really likes the visual style of the game, which he would describe as "NASA-punk," as well as the ship building, planetary exploration or space combat.

Unfortunately, the official release date of Starfield is still unknown. The interview also touched on Todd Howard's preference for specific dates. Matt Booty, however, admitted that in the context of Starfield 's release it will certainly be neither 3.3.23 nor (fortunately) 4.4.24, so we can cross these two dates off the calendar.
