All Boxed Editions of Starfield Without Discs; Bethesda Sends Mixed Signals [UPDATE]
Bethesda first claimed that physical copies of Starfield would not include discs, and then deleted its tweet on the subject.
Update: Bethesda has clarified the situation - the boxed edition of Starfield for Xbox will include a disc, while with the PC edition we will only get a digital key.
Apparently, all boxed editions of Starfield will not contain discs - this was confirmed by Bethesda on Twitter, but the information was removed by the company shortly after. As a result, it is not known whether Starfield will live to see physical media, or only keys for the game.
Confusion over physical copies of Starfield
It all started with a question asked by user Züm. He was curious about whether the boxed, standard edition of Starfield will include the disc. Bethesda Support replied, that all physical editions of the game will include a key for the platform of our choice, the discs themselves are not provided for the boxed editions.
Some time after this publication, it is likely that Bethesda's "brass" decided to delete the tweet. Currently, therefore, it is uncertain what will ultimately be included in physical copies of Starfield.
To make things even more interesting, Eurogamer reported that Bethesda's Spanish Twitter account claimed something completely different some time ago. According to administrators, the standard version of the game will contain a disc, and only the Constellation edition will include a key. So far Bethesda has not taken a position on the matter, so we still have to wait for an explanation of this strange situation.
Starfield Direct provided a ton of footage of the game
Recall that just after the end of the last Xbox Games Showcase, the Starfield Direct began. The developers showed a ton of gameplay for about 45 minutes, as well as many developer interviews. In addition, Todd Howard presented headphones, a watch and a special edition of the Xbox controller. All of these devices were designed in Bethesda's game theme.
Starfield will be released on September 6. Bethesda's promising title will come exclusively to Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC. Let's point out that the game is expected to offer about 1,000 planets to explore, 10% of which are suppost to have life on them.
