2 Words Were Enough to Make Stardew Valley Fans Excited
The Stardew Valley community almost exploded after these two words from the game's developer. The players had been demanding it for a long time.
One of the reasons why a sizable group of gamers love Stardew Valley so much, is that the game's creator - Eric Barone - is constantly expanding the game, despite the fact that it debuted in early 2016. Barone rarely shares information about future updates, but when he does, they are met with great enthusiasm from the players. Such was the case this time, too - all it took was the publication of just two words.
Two words - great power
On his Twitter profile, Barone published a post, in which he wrote only "iridium scythe". The highest-quality tools in the game, for example, axe, pickaxe, hoe, etc., are made of this material. The scythe has not yet lived to see such a version.
At the moment, this short post boasts 1.9 million views, 58.4 thousand likes and 4282 retweets. This is all the more interesting because the creator hasn't even revealed whether the aforementioned scythe will be in the game at all, and whether it will happen in update 1.6, which is still being developed. However, we do not know when it will reach players, because the dev is working in parallel on his new game, which will be Haunted Chocolatier.
Although it is unclear what such a scythe would feature (more hay after mowing the grass?), there is no shortage of admiration in the comments.
"Please! I'll do anything for it!," Luna Rexx
"I can't hide the fact that I'm very happy about this, because finally all the tools will match each other in color," Robin Groves
"This will make me play Stardew Valley for another week without a moment's sleep," kirsten
Interestingly, players were demanding the iridium scythe as early as 5 years ago, as evidenced by this post from Reddit and the screenshot below.
Let us know in the comments what changes you would like to see in version 1.6.
