Star Trek Fans Rejoice; Star Trek: Prodigy - Supernova Revealed
During the ongoing Star Trek fan convention in Chicago fans have spotted a banner promoting the yet unannounced game, Star Trek: Prodigy - Supernova. It is possible that its launch will take place before the summer holidays.
The official Twitter of TrekCore.com (a website dedicated to Star Trek) posted an interesting find, coming from the ongoing convention of fans of this universe in Chicago.
On one of the advertising banners we can see an unannounced game titled Star Trek: Prodigy - Supernova. It reads:
New video game coming soon. Tune in to Outright Games youtube channelin May to find out more.
It is worth reminding that this is not the only game being made in this universe. During last year's The Game Awards gala, to everyone's surprise, we've seen the announcement of Star Trek: Resurgence. The game is being developed by former employees of Telltale Games.
Platforms
Supernova will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The release date has not been announced but it cannot be ruled out that it is scheduled for May.
- The game is to debut on PC via Steam - which excludes the situation that it will be a temporary Epic Game Store exclusive.
- At this point, it's unclear what genre Supernova will represent.
- The game has also not been assigned an age category.
Animated series
The game is based on the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy, created for Paramount streaming service and Nickelodeon.
- The ten-episode season 1 debuted last year and collected positive reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes the show averages a 93% rating from critics and a 73% rating from viewers.
Tessera Studios
In the bottom left corner of the banner there is a logo of the studio, which is responsible for Supernova. It is Tessera Studios, responsible for the stealth FPP thriller adventure game Intruders: Hide and Seek.
In this game, we play as a 10-year-old boy trying to rescue his parents who are being held hostage. The game was released in 2019 on PC and PS4. The title uses virtual reality headsets, although it does not require them to play.
Officially, the developer is now working on a dark, dystopian game ROOT: Rise of the Revolution. Its action takes place in a world where robots have overthrown human governments and taken control of the world. The release date and target platforms are unknown.
