STALKER 2 Appeared on GOG, Only Without Russian Dubbing
A game card for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has appeared in GOG. What's more, all indications are that Russian dubbing has been cut from the game.
Three weeks ago, during the Xbox Games Showcase Extended an intro to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was presente and it was confirmed that the title will be released next year on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles (but no exact date was given). Today, a product card for the game appeared in GOG.
DRM and placeholder
In keeping with tradition, the game version available on GOG will lack DRM security features, which often cause problems in the functioning of some games.
The product card on GOG shows a release date of "December 31, 2023." However, the developers announced on Discord that this is simply a placeholder.
No Russian voices and available editions
What's more, the game's card states that Heart of Chornobyl will feature voice tracks recorded in only two languages: English and Ukrainian. The Russian dubbing, which was also originally supposed to be present in the game, was therefore most likely cut (although the cinematic localization in that language was left in).
Heart of Chornobyl can be pre-ordered on GOG in two editions: Standard Edition, Deluxe, which includes a bonus mission and skins, as well as Ultimate, which offers access to two story expansions to be released after the game's launch.
