Splinter Cell Remake Loses Director; He Worked on Blacklist, AC Unity and Far Cry 6
Splinter Cell Remake has lost its director. David Grivel left Ubisoft after eleven years of working on such game series as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and Splinter Cell.
Announced in December 2021, Splinter Cell Remake has lost its director. David Grivel from Ubisoft Toronto informed on his LinkedIn profile that he is leaving the French company after 11 years to embark on a new adventure.
The developer admitted that he was very lucky, as he was given the opportunity to work not only with great people, but also on brands he loves as a gamer. In the beginning it was Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - back in Grivel's days at Ubisoft Paris - and later, among others, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Far Cry Primal, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 6.
The latest project, which David Grivel will no longer be involved with, turned out to be Splinter Cell Remake. All indications are that the work is still at a very early stage, so it is difficult to see the departure of the developer as a bad sign. Such, however, may be the fact that Ubisoft has decided rewrite the plot of the original Splinter Cell to adapt it to modern gamers. Needless to say, fans of Sam Fisher did not receive this news with enthusiasm.
Both David Grivel's new project and about Splinter Cell Remake certainly won't return to the headlines any time soon. Nonetheless, the former Ubisoft employee has already instructed to remain vigilant, so it is possible that he will be the first to unveil the cards. Well, unless the French company decides to announce his successor, while revealing more information about the game.
