SpaceVenture Beta Finally Available 8 Years After the Fundraiser
SpaceVenture, a three-dimensional adventure game created by the devs of the iconic Space Quest, has launched open beta-tests for players. Access to the early version of the title was granted to those who supported it on Kickstarter. Just for the record, the fundraiser ended over 8 years ago.
Over eight years ago we've heard about the successful Kickstarter campaign for SpaceVenture - a space, three-dimensional point-and-click adventure game from Two Guys From Andromeda, whose pillar is the Scott Murphy - Mark Crowe duo (authors of the first four parts of iconic Space Quest series). Since then, work on the title has slowly progressed, but it is still unfinished. Luckily, those who have decided to support it with a minimum of $30 don't have to wait for another written update on the state of the game any longer, but to see it personally. The game's beta-tests have just started.
Invitations to check out the early version of SpaceVenture have been sent to supporters' emailboxes. Besides instructions on how to take part in the beta, they also included information on how to communicate with the dev team and report bugs.
We can watch the very beginning of SpaceVenture's beta on the following footage. As we can see on it, the version available for testing is not completely devoid of spoilers, so the creators are warning that if someone wants to avoid them until the day the full version is released, it would be better to hold back from checking the title.
So far the beta version of SpaceVenture can only be played on a Pc with Windows. The developers assure that as soon as the early versions for Mac and Linux, as well as iPads and tablets running on Android, are ready they will be released.
