We know who will replace Jim Ryan as the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Hermen Hulst and Hideaki Nishino will jointly lead the PlayStation brand.

The original co-founder of Guerrilla Games (Horizon series) and current head of PlayStation Studios will continue to be responsible for the company's studios, overseeing the group of SIE developers. Meanwhile, Nishino has been appointed to lead the Platform Business Group after serving as the Senior Vice President of Sony in the management and global product strategy department since 2016. The group is responsible for the equipment, technologies, and PlayStation Network, as well as for managing relationships with external entities such as publishers and independent studios.

Both men will report to Hiroki Totoki, who will temporarily replace Jim Ryan as president of SIE from April 1. The Japanese man is also the president, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation. Hulst and Nishino also assured that they will work together and "connect players and creators through world-class products, services, and technology."

Sony Interactive Entertainment is a dynamic and growing business that delivers incredible entertainment experiences through the connection of content and technology. These two leaders will have clear responsibilities and will manage strategic direction to ensure the focus remains on deepening engagement with existing PlayStation users and expanding experiences to new audiences -- Totoki stated in an official Sony announcement.

Changes to key positions in the SIE will take effect on June 1st.
