Sony Shuts Down Official Website of Killzone
The official website of Killzone went down permanently. Players have lost access to their stats from Killzone: Mercenary and Killzone: Shadow Fall, as well as the option to create clans in the latter.
- Sony has decided to shut down the official website of the Killzone series;
- Players lost access to statistics and rankings in Killzone Mercenary and Killzone: Shadow Fall. In the latter, the option to create online clans also disappeared.
The official website of the Killzone series has been closed. Sony decided to redirect all traffic to PlayStation.com without prior notice. Perhaps this may could have gone unnoticed if we hadn't been talking of one of the most popular exclusive franchises on PlayStation.
As the official announcement indicates, the online modes in Killzone Mercenary and Killzone: Shadow Fall remain intact. However, access to the stats from both games and the options for creating clans in Killzone: Shadow Fall have been removed.
Some people think that this is a final confirmation that the series developed by the Dutch studio Guerrilla Games has been definitively shelved. Perhaps the universe of depicting the Helghast and Vektan conflict will return one day. But we don't think it will happen too soon.
At the moment, Guerrilla Games is working on Horizon II: Forbidden West, which is scheduled for PS5 in 2021.
