Sony's Romance With PC Continues; Company is Looking for Leader to Expand PC Division
Sony feels more and more confident in the PC market. The company is looking for a director who will take care of planning the development strategy of the PC games division.
Sony intends to expand its PC games division even more strongly. Such conclusions can be drawn from the company's new job offer.
- The corporation is looking for a person for the position of Senior Director responsible for the creation and implementation of strategy related to the release of games on PC.
- His or her task is to create plans to increase sales results of PC game and to take care of the growth of the player base of Sony's productions on PC every month.
This is another sign of the growing importance of the PC market for the company. In recent years Sony began to release PC ports of many of its biggest hits, such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone or God of War and in the future also Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. There are also rumors that there will be a PC release of Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
Sony some time ago Sony also acquired Nixxes, a studio that specializes in creating high-quality ports. It is expected that this team has been acquired precisely in order to transfer hit games from PlayStation consoles to PC.
These are not all signs of increased interest in the PC market. Last year, Sony created a separate PlayStation PC brand, and ports are being released under that banner, whereas previously it was PlayStation Mobile. A few days ago the company also released an app enabling PC gamers to easily update their DualSense software. The company has also invested in Epic Games.
