Sons of Valhalla is a Viking-themed game that blends side-scrolling combat with strategy elements in a beautiful pixel-art world. You play as Thorald Olavson, a vengeful Viking seeking to rescue his kidnapped love and conquer England. Build your own fortress, gather an army, and engage in intense battles as you raid and pillage your way across the land. The game is set to be released on April 5, 2024. Will it feature multiplayer and co-op modes? Read on, if you want to know more.

Multiplayer and Coop in Sons of Valhalla Explained

Sons of Valhalla won’t have multiplayer or co-op at launch according to its Steam page. This has sparked discussion among players, as many of them would like to team up with friends to stand side by side and carve a bloody path on English soil together. The developers haven’t left these pleas unanswered. In an old community post, they acknowledged the demand for multiplayer and co-op, hinting that it might be something they consider for the future.

Definitely, but not for the first version. We can imagine a multiplayer mode to be released as a free DLC.

So, while no concrete plans have been announced, you won’t join forces with your friends in Sons of Valhalla right away, there’s still a chance it could be an option down the line. Fingers crossed! The developers may prioritize optimizing the game first and gather feedback before focusing on adding new features.
