It's been said that free-to-play games are sometimes the most expensive product of the bunch. Diablo Immortal is increasingly confirming this thesis - lately most talk is not about the mechanics themselves, the storyline or the enjoyment from the experience, but about microtransactions, without which it is difficult to play during later stages of the game. Diablo Immortal can cost you a lot of money, as one person found out, claiming that their son used his credit card and spent about $2,000 in the game.

No refunds

Support has not been helpful

Reddit user by the handle AiurHoopla, published a post in which he claimed that his son spent about $2,000 from his account. He managed to communicate with support, where he learned that nothing could be done. The desperate parent decided to share his problem on Reddit, hoping that maybe there he could find a way to solve the troublesome situation.

"My son spent around 2000$ on Diablo Immortal using my credit card. Asked for a refund from the support and they have at first told me they could refund it then refused. Anyone got any ideas how to handle this? My credit card company is now asking for a signed copy by blizzard that they won't handle the refund (Canada)."

Reddit's reaction

Unfortunately, most Reddit users were not helpful and did not support the affected parent. Some of them believe that it was they, not the child, who spent the money. Some joked about it in various ways, for example, asking if the son got at least some good loot. One user wrote:

"And this is one, if not the only reason why this game has been banned in certain countries, because it promotes gambling."

All indications are that the money cannot be recovered, as both support and the bank try to push the responsility on the other party. And we have received another story as a warning.
