Skate 4 Undergoes Testing at EA; Presentation Could be Near

Electronic Arts has already started testing Skate 4, which may suggest that we will see the game in action soon.

There are many indications that the wait for the release of the next installment of Skate is slowly coming to an end.

  1. The word "Skate" and a reference to "playtesting" were found in Origin API's code.
  2. This suggests that the game is already being tested, most likely by Electronic Arts' QA (quality assurance) department.
  3. The new installment will be the first to hit PCs, so these won't be any leftovers from older games from the series.
  4. In the code, the game is simply called "Skate" and not "Skate 4", which suggests that it will be treated as a reboot.
  5. The source of these reports is the very reputable tipster Tom Henderson.
  6. Henderson believes that the game will most likely offer cross-play, as this is the direction most of EA's sports games are going.

The start of internal testing is good news, as it may suggest that the publisher is getting ready to show the game. We know that this year there will be no EA Play Live event, so the fourth installment of the skateboarding series will most likely receive its own presentation.

The game was announced in 2020, but after that it went off the radar. The creators released some reports about the progress of work from time to time, but until now not a fragment of gameplay was shown.

However, fans of the brand are patient. Skate 3 debuted in 2010 and for a long time everything seemed to indicate that Electronic Arts has company completely abandoned the series. The publisher was convinced to change the decision by the players, who for many years stubbornly demanded Skate 4.
