Controversial Shooter Six Days in Fallujah With Early Access Release Date
More than a dozen years after its announcement, the controversial Six Days in Fallujah will make its debut on Steam, although for now only in early access.
More than two years after the resumption of work, Six Days in Fallujah a game conceived in 2009, finally has a release date - although for now only in early access. The controversial shooter will be available to check out starting June 22 as part of Steam Early Access.
The release date was revealed with the publication of a new trailer for the game. We have posted the video below.
Highwire Games plans for Six Days in Fallujah to remain in Early Access on Steam for more than a year.
- Initially, the players will be able to check out a four person co-op missions, based on the events of the first two days in the eponymous Al-Fallujah and set in procedurally generated urban areas;
- over time, the developers plan to add more missions (including special missions and night missions) and campaigns, as well as bots and gameplay modifying elements such as weather conditions and more types of buildings and enemies.
The developer plans to share detailed development plans for Six Days in Fallujah in the coming weeks. The team also mentioned that the full version of the game will debut simultaneously on PC and consoles (according to recent information: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S).
As a side note: for the time being, we will not see civilians in the game, because - as the developers explain in a post on Steam - American soldiers did not meet many of them in the first days of the battle for Al-Fallujah. So there's a (small) chance that the Early Access release will do without further controversy.
