Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Aiko's Choice on New Gameplay
Five years after the release of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun we will get a standalone expansion to this tactical Commandos-like RTS. A trailer featuring gameplay footage from the expansion was presented at gamescom.
At this year's GamesCom, a trailer featuring gameplay from the Aiko's Choice DLC (announced in March) for the excellent tactical game Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, was released. The expansion itself will be released in December 2021 on PC and will enable us to delve into the fate of the titular kunoichi, or female ninja, Aiko. The heroine thought that she would never again return to her bloody profession, but she was deeply mistaken. Luckily, Aiko will be helped by her old companions known from the base game.
In the expansion we will take part in three long missions and three intermission tasks.
In December 2016, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun was released, a great title modeled on games from the Commandos series or titles such as Robin Hood: Legend of Sherwood or the old Desperados. At the time the developers from Mimimi Games took us to brilliantly designed levels, set in Japan in the Edo period, specfically in the year 1615. Our task in the game was to direct a group of professional assassins and silently eliminate all opponents who would rebel against the new shogun.
