Serial Cheater and Streamer Sued for Threatening Studio Employees

Bungie has sued a streamer who not only used cheats in Destiny 2, but also threatened studio employees.

Bungie's lawyers have been very busy lately. We recently wrote about the legal problems of a certain youtuber, and now the studio has sued a streamer named Luca Leone, broadcasting on Twitch on the channel miffysworld.

The allegations are extensive and include:

  1. The use of cheats in Destiny 2;
  2. Attempts to circumvent bans - Luca Leone was said to have set up 13 additional accounts for this purpose, in violation of the license that players must accept before playing;
  3. Threats - Leone not only threatened to burn down Bungie headquarters, but also tried to threaten individual studio employees, informing them that they were in danger because he was going to move close to their homes;
  4. Sale (via the OGUsers forum) of Destiny 2-related emblems and social media accounts, which was said to violate Bungie's copyrights.

In the lawsuit, Bungie demands:

  1. 150 thousand dollars in damages for each copyright violation;
  2. $2.5 thousand for each use of cheats by Leone; and
  3. the imposition of a court order prohibiting Leone from contacting Bungie employees, as well as from following them and performing other actions considered harassment.

Recall that in recent months Bungie has repeatedly decided to go to court against people whose actions brought harm to Destiny 2 and its associated developers and fans. Among other things, the company sued a group of cheatmakers - this case ended in a settlement, in which the studio will receive $13.5 million in damages.

In turn at the end of June Bungie sued a youtuber who wanted revenge for an order to remove materials from his channel. He chose an illegal route, impersonating a subgroup of CSC Global, sending false reports of copyright infringement and harming other content creators related to Destiny 2.
