Secrets of Grindea - Console (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox) Release
Secrets of Grindea has recently left Early Access. Find out what we know about a possible console release for the game.
Secrets of Grindea is a classic Action RPG inspired by games from the Nintendo SNES console. It’s not just nostalgia that has drew players to it, as the title gathered positive reviews for an engaging story and interesting cast, as well as flexible combat and character progression, and the overall depth. Secrets of Grindea has finally left Early Access after 10 years of development, and fans may be wondering if there’s a chance for a console release.
Secrets of Grindea – Console (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox) Release
There is currently no definite answer about releasing Secrets of Grindea on PS5 / PS4, Switch or Xbox. In the FAQ on the official site of the game, we read that “At present it’s for Windows only.” From the wording, it appears that the developers are not flat-out rejecting the possibility of a console port, but they are also not making any promises.
There might be some plans to bring Secrets of Grindea to consoles, but it is possible that the timing has not been right to reveal them yet. However, shortly after the official premiere of the game seems to be the perfect moment to announce if the title would be available on other platforms.
If you’ve enjoyed Secrets of Grindea on PC, either as a demo or the full version and you’d like to play it again on Playstation, Xbox or Switch, or if you’d like to experience the journey through Grindea for the first time on those consoles, keep your eyes peeled. The developers from Pixel Ferrets are known to update the community frequently on their progress, so check their blog for a possible announcement in the future.
However, even if no such news come any time soon, do not get discouraged. Remember that Pixel Ferrets are a very small studio, and the experience in Grindea that has captivated so many players was brought to us by only 6 people (out of them, 3 were in charge of music and sound design). It is likely that even if they’re considering console ports, it might take a considerable amount of time. So far, you can access the PC version on Steam, GOG and Humble, and the glowing reviews show Secrets of Grindea is worth the wait.
