Secret Invasion will debut any day now in Disney Plus' offering. The story will focus on Nick Fury, who is known in the MCU as the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. and primarily the character without whom there would be no Avengers. However, he was one of many who disappeared for five years after Thanos' snap in Infinity War.

As it turns out, the blip, which resurrected the people "snapped" by Thanos, will have a huge impact on the protagonist. This issue was revealed in Samuel L. Jackson's recent interview with Screen Rant.

"I had conversations with the writer when we first started. (...) The fact that he's [Fury - ed. note] been gone for the amount of time he's been gone, what the Blip meant to him, and how he was affected by it. Nick Fury, being the impervious know-all, be-all of everything... Something actually shook him. It gives Nick a humanity that we haven't shown so far. When we first meet him in Captain Marvel he's this young FBI agent who hadn't developed that callus over his soul just yet. So, he's a little soft, but all of a sudden when this Blip thing happens, it throws him, and he stays gone. He thinks enough of himself to create a cover, by having Talos pretend to be him. By the time he comes back, he thinks he's self-medicated himself in a way that allows him to come back and get in the game again. But everybody around him sees he's not that guy. Everybody but him sees he's not him."

Samuel L. Jackson's comments on the matter suggest that viewers of Secret Invasion will have the opportunity to see Nick Fury from a completely different side. How the character will cope with the trauma left behind by the blip, we will soon find out.

Secret Invasion will debut on Disney+ tomorrow, on June 21. The first season of the show consists of six episodes, which will appear on the platform every Wednesday.
