Scene From Company of Brothers Recreated in Video Game
Last week, online WWII shooter Post Scriptum received a new update, which, among other things, added a map called Carentan Offensive 01. This provided an opportunity for fans to recreate the famous scene from the third episode of the iconic Company of Brothers series.
Despite a difficult launch, the realistic online WWII FPS Post Scriptum from Periscope Games, managed to gather a group of fans who are looking forward to further updates to the title. The newest one, marked with the number 2.0.770.14872, debuted at the end of last month. It added two maps to the game - St. Mere Eglise Invasion 02 and Carentan Offensive 01, among others. The latter inspired the host of N.O.X Cinematics channel to recreate one of the scenes from Company of Brothers, namely the storming of Cafe De Normandie. You can see the final result on the video below.
The scene originally took place in the third episode of HBO's iconic series. It focuses entirely on the battle of Carentan. The battle started on June 10, 1944, only four days after the Allied landing in Normandy. The goal of the legendary American 101st Airborne Division that took part in it, was to occupy the French town of Carentan, which was a key point for the consolidation of the airborne unit's perimeter, and repel the German counter-attack. The battle ended on June 14 with a victory of US soldiers.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the famous scene from Company of Brothers has been recreated in a video game. It also inspired the opening video for the third mission of Company of Heroesy, the WWI real-time strategy by Relic Entertainment.
If we would like to play Post Scriptum, we remind that the title is available only on PC. You can buy it on Steam for $29.99 (basic version) or $59.99 (for Supporter edition, which includes digital artbook and soundtrack).
