Ryzen 4000 CPU Reveal This Fall
New 4th-gen Ryzen CPUs will be unveiled most likely in September. According to AMD's assurances, their release will coincide with the postponed date of Computex.
The current situation in the world has forced Computex organisers to postpone it from June to September. AMD's plans to reveal the new fourth generation CPUs have not changed. The company will adapt its schedule to the new schedule. It is now more in line with earlier assurances about the introduction of the new Zen 3 platform. This entirely new architecture, according to AMD assurances, is expected to appear in the fall of 2020.
- The date of the Computex technology fair has been postponed to September due to the global epidemiological situation;
- The new fourth generation Ryzen processors will appear at the show in September - based on the new Zen 3 technology;
- On April 30, we will learn more about Intel's new tenth generation processors, Comet Lake.
According to previous reports, the fourth generation of Ryzen processors will be developed in the Zen 3 architecture. According to the AMD Data Center CEO, Forrest Norrod, the new platform is expected to be something fully innovative. It will be a technical leap forward more like the transition from Zen+ to Zen 2 than from Zen to Zen+. The announced advanced "7nm+" lithography, however, has been removed from the technological information. Instead, AMD will probably head towards the Enhanced 7nm nodes. The technology is being developed by TMSC, one of the major manufacturers of AMD processors.
We also expect that the new generation will continue to use the AM4 socket. Even if it does, it will be the last type of chipset to use this, slightly aged socket. We are also looking forward to hearing about the new Intel processors. The news about the tenth generation of Comet Lakes should appear on April 30. In May we will probably learn a little more about their performance, bit we will have to wait a little bit longer for their release. Maybe it will also be at Computex. Let's hope that by then the threat from the coronavirus will have subsided.
