Rust will get an update adding DLSS support. The information was provided by Nvidia, which did not fail to boast support for this technology in more than 55 titles.

Rust's developers may have abandoned plans to add HDRP support and thus native DLSS in version 2.0, but fortunately it does not mean the complete abandonment of the latter technology. Nvidia confirmed that the work of Facepunch Games will receive DLSS support in the next update. Its launch will take place on July 1.

The company also noted that the intelligent image scaling technology is now available in over 55 games, including recently added support in two titles: Necromunda: Hired Gun and Chernobylite. DLSS will also be coming to Doom Eternal on June 29, and "soon" to Red Dead Redemption 2. Additionally, Nvidia has reminded us that the feature is being introduced in an early version of Unreal Engine 5, as well as being made available to Linux users for Vulkan-based games in tomorrow's update.

Leaving Rust aside, perhaps Nvidia's announcement on the de facto conquests of DLSS should be associated with the actions of the rival company AMD. Tomorrow will mark the launch of the long-awaited AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, which is expected to offer a performance boost not only on Radeon GPU but also the GeForce GTX series, not supporting DLSS. It's not unlikely that the Nvidia saw fit to remind us who first enabled gamers to enjoy smoother animation without a drop in visuals quality.
