Rumor: Battlefield 2042 With Free Updates After Release; Insider Reveals Content
Leaks have appeared on the web about the content that will appear in Battlefield 2042 after the release. According to the informant we can expect new maps, weapons and vehicles.
- A well-known insider revealed the post-release development of Battlefield 2042;
- According to Tom Henderson, the game will receive seasonal updates that will introduce new maps, vehicles and weapons;
- They are to be completely free of charge.
Further information about Battlefield 2042 reveals that the game will offer us a very large amount of content already at launch. A particularly positive surprise was the Portal mode, announced the day before yesterday, which will enable us to return to the maps known from earlier installments. However, this is not all that the developers have in store for us. The game will be developed through regular seasonal updates. It is possible that we already learned what they will offer us.
The leak comes from Tom Henderson, an informant known for his news on the Battlefield and Call of Duty series. According to his knowledge, each seasonal update will introduce a new specialist to the game, two maps intended for classic modes and two aimed at Portal. The Hazard Zone mode will also receive story updates, and the arsenal of weapons and vehicles will be significantly expanded. Each of these updates will also be free of charge. According to Henderson, it won't be season passes, which we will have to regularly pay for.
If the information turns out to be true then this is very good news for us. It means that DICE intends to constantly develop its new game and take care of the influx of content that will further engage the players. In the case of regular deliveries of such seasonal packages, it would be difficult to complain about boredom. Particularly attractive is the news that we wouldn't have to pay for them. So much so that it makes you wonder how, in this case, the devs intend to earn money on their game in the long term. It's possible that cosmetic elements will be used for this purpose.
Note, however that no matter how reliable Tom Henderson is, it's still unofficial information. It is, therefore, worth approaching it with caution, because it may be only partially true or completely wrong. So we can only wait for possible confirmation from DICE. Due to the imminent release, we should receive more information soon.
Battlefield 2042 will be available on October 22 on PC, PS4, Xbox One as well as PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
