RTX 3080 With 20 GB VRAM Inbound
The GeForce RTX 3080 was a performance hit and the GPU sold out on release. Surprisingly, there are reports that a version with doubled memory will be released in the near future.
According to the latest leaks, Nvidia is planning a December release for RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 models with doubled memory. The former will receive 20 GB of GDDR6X VRAM and the latter 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Other specs will remain unchanged. Everyone complaining that 10 GB VRAM is not enough for comfortable 4K gaming should be satisfied. The only thing that puzzles is whether the December launch is not just wishful thinking - recently the company from Santa Clara confirmed that problems with the availability of the basic RTX 3080 will last at least until the end of the year.
The leak also cintains information that the 3070Ti will not be released, although there is a chance that it will appear as a refreshed SUPER version next year. Those expecting cheaper cards from the Ampere family will be disappointed - the release of 3060Ti will most likely also be delayed to mid-November.
