Rockstar May Release Bully 2 Before GTA 6, Claims Tom Henderson
According to Tom Henderson, the fact that Rockstar Games is working on the next installment of GTA does mean that the work on Bully 2 has stopped. The insider seems convinced that „something's going on” with the latter series.
- Tom Henderson believes that GTA 6 doesn't have to be Rockstar Games' next game;
- Referring to his own reports from about a month ago, the insider claims that the first game to be released might be Bully 2.
When Rockstar Games revealed the release date for the next-gen version of GTA V and for the first time officially mentioned the next installment of this popular series, a large part of gamers took for granted that it was the new Grand Theft Auto would be the next game in line.
Tom Henderson - a well-known industry insider whose "specialty" are the Call of Duty and Battlefield series - is not convinced, however. In his opinion, there is a chance that before the successor to GTA V is released, we're going to get Bully 2.
Henderson's conclusion was based on the fact that Rockstar's announcement did not state that the new GTA - implied GTA VI - was to be the studio's next game. In a way, the informant thus defends the news that he spread in mid-December. It concerned alleged early version of Bully 2, which was supposed to be shown to a select group of people from the industry. The presentation of the game - at least according to Henderson - is a sign that work on it is very advanced.
These reports have been denied by former Rockstar employees. They claimed that work on Bully 2 has been stalled since 2009. Some of them argued that if Rockstar were to take the project seriously, it could be released within two or three years at best.
Of course, Rockstar Games may be working on several games at once. But until the studio makes an official announcement on Bully 2 it's better to take the information from Henderson with a gain of salt - even if he repeatedly proved to be a reliable source.
