Roblox Server Blackout Lasted for Dozens of Hours [UPDATE: Up Again]
Roblox, one of the most popular games in the world, went down. The servers went down dozens of hours ago and only now devs report of some traffic returning. It is unknown how long it will take before full functionality is restored.
UPDATE:
Creators of Roblox finally managed to get the servers up and running. In total, the game was down for over sixty hours.
What's interesting, it was only yesterday evening when the developers managed to identify the exact cause of these problems and three hours later the servers were reactivated in some regions. Unfortunately, the devs did not reveal what exactly was to blame for Roblox's trouble.
Roblox servers have died and the game has been inactive for a long time. The problem concerns all hardware platforms. Even the game;s official website is unreachable. The difficulties were supposed to have begun on October 28.
This means that one of the most popular game in the world does not work for several dozen hours. Tonight, the developers announced that they have finally figured out what the reason is, and have started working on fixing the problems. However, it is not known when this will happen.
You can check the status of the game on a special page set up by the developers just for this purpose.
At the same time the developers assured that the crash has nothing to do with any recent advertising activity. Some fans have theorized that the cause of the problems was a recent marketing event. During the event, Chipotle restaurant chain opened virtual restaurants in Roblox, where you could get Halloween skins.
In addition, 30 thousand players who would be the first to visit these locations each day were to receive a coupon for one free burrito, to be redeemed in orders placed through the website or the Chipotle app.
