RESIDENT EVIL 2 IN A NUTSHELL:
- Developer: Capcom
- Publisher: Capcom
- Genre: survival horror
- Release date: January 25, 2019.
- Platforms: PC (Steam), PS4, Xbox One
Resident Evil 2, the remake of the iconic 1998 survival horror created by Capcom, launches today. The game is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, for about $59.99. A day before the release, Capcom has published a nice little video to celebrate the launch and reference an old live-action trailer created for the original game by none other than John Romero. Here’s the piece:
In Resident Evil 2 we play the role of Leon Kennedy and/or Claire Redfield (both protagonists have separate story campaigns) and explore fictional town of Racoon City, which is being overrun by zombies. The title has won the favour of the experts, who praise, among other things, the game’s well-designed gameplay mechanics, great locations and excellent audiovisuals. People who are not sure if they like the production should consider reaching for the 30-minute demo.
The original Resident Evil 2 made its debut more than 20 years ago on PC and the first PlayStation (considered to be one of the best titles for this platform even today). Since then, the game has been ported to Nintendo GameCube (2003), PlayStation 3 (2007), PlayStation Portable (also 2007) and PlayStation Vita (2012).
