Remnant 2 The Awakened King - How to Get Ritualist and Best Build
Remnant 2 received its first DLC - The Awakened King and with it, a new Archetype called Ritualist. Here you will learn how to get it and the best build that will utilise its abilities to the fullest.
After successful debut in summer this year, Remnant 2 has received its first major expansion entitled The Awakened King. The DLC features many additional features like new items and weapons, new bosses and enemies, and of course new storyline focused on the One True King that has awakened from his slumber. Those are not the only things that the content update has to offer. One of the most important additions it introduces is a new Archetype – Ritualist. It is not available from the get-go though and will require unlocking. Here you will learn how to do just that, and also what’s the best build you can use with this Archetype.

How to unlock the Ritualist in Remnant 2 The Awakened King
Unlocking the Ritualist Archetype in Remnant 2 The Awakened King requires playing through the DLC for a bit, as it’s not immediately unlocked. Obviously to do that you have to buy the expansion and select The Awakened King from the Adventure Mode. After choosing it, you will be thrown to the Forlorn Coast in Losomn.
From there you can start navigating through the level. Go down the path (1) – you will be going next to the area that will allow you to unlock the Ritualist, though you won’t be able access it just yet. Continue through the level (2) to reach entrance to Sunken Haunt. There, you have to defeat the boss called Sunken Witch. Achieving that will allow you to progress down the path and eventually you’ll find yourself back on the Forlorn Coast, though more up north. Now, you’re on a straight way (3) to get to the center point of the map. That is your goal.
Getting there, you will see boats in the dock. Jump down onto them and continue navigating through the ships until you see a hole in a wall. Enter it and you will find yourself in a cave at the end of which you will find… a witch. Disposing of all the enemies there will allow you to get a Ragged Poppet. Take it and get back to Ward 13.
Go to Wallace, who will allow you to craft the Cursed Effigy from the Ragged Poppet. Now you will be able to equip the Cursed Effigy Engram to use the Ritualist as your secondary Archetype, or you can create a new character with Ritualist as their primary Archetype.
Ritualist build in Remnant 2 The Awakened King
The Ritualist in Remnant 2 is an Archetype which focuses on dealing Damage over Time (DoT). Why not try to make it even more vicious to melt down the enemies?
The Prime Perk of this class is called Vile that is a negative status effect that inflicts Infection on your enemies. While Infected, the victim receives more Status Effect damage, spreading in on nearby enemies on death. Ritualist’s Archetype Trait is Affliction that increases Status Effect duration.
As primary weapon, we would recommend using Sparkfire shotgun with Witchfire Mod and Twisting Wounds Mutator. The shotgun deals considerate amount of damage, while the mod inflicts Burning status effect, while the mutator adds Bleeding on top of it.
Thanks to all Status Effects inflicted by the Sparkfire shotgun, it would be a good idea to combine it with the Eruption skill that increases damage depending on how many unique Status Effects are inflicted on an enemy.
To further improve the potential of DoT, use Spirit (increased mod power generation), Expertise (reduces skill cooldown), Handling (reduces weapon spread and recoil), and Siphoner (increases lifesteal) as your core Traits.
As your amulet, it will be a good idea to use Chains of Amplification, which further increases damage dealt by Status Effects.
Consider Archon as your secondary Archetype, due to its synergy with Mods.
