Blood Money is Boring; Cold Reception of New Red Dead Online Update
Blood Money update for Red Dead Online clearly did not appeal to the players. Voices quickly appeared in the web that the new content is uninspired and simply boring.
- New update for Red Dead Online did not meet the expectations of players;
- Fans complain about repetitive content and bugs that spoil the gameplay;
- Big controversy is also sparked by a new currency called Capitale.
Blood Money is the update that all Red Dead Online fans have probably been waiting for. It was heralded as an expansion that would solve the lack of content to keep players entertained. Apparently, however, it did not meet the expectation. Just a day after its release, the web was filled with complaints.
Most players who express their dissatisfaction on Reddit, claim that the new content is simply boring. According to them, it does not differ from the tasks they have done so far. What's more, special missions require payment in a new currency called Capitale. However, the problem is how to get it. In addition, the update introduced new bugs to the game.
"I can summerize the update: nothing new, that pass is just a normal outlaw pass but drip feeded and the "missions" are the same time based stranger missions. You go see some of the same characters except now they give you an option to do Blood Money missions. Don't worry, they don't pay in Capitale, the only way to earn some is to loot everyone and everything. So I looted 100 bodies (maybe even more) and 2-3 lock boxes/chests... resulting in 4 meager Capitale over 7 missions."

"The new missions are nothing special, at all, they’re glorified stranger missions, you dont even earn capitale for completing them. What is capitale used for? Buying a “special” mission, thats it, buying a mission and/or its increased difficulty at an increased price."

"The big bummer for me is that it's not the mafia-themed update they teased. Saint Denis is underutilized, as are the mafia characters. I thought this would be GTA: Saint Denis. But after the initial contact you're immediately sent out into the same swamps and creeks you've already been doing missions in for the last two years."

One of the dissatisfied players posted on Reddit a message in which he calls for the community to return to the action that was organized a year ago. Owners of Red Dead Online, disappointed with the lack of new content, put on clown costumes, in which they paraded through the virtual Wild West. The player's entry has more than three hundred comments, and the number of responses is growing. So it is possible that the game servers will soon be filled with clown gunslingers.
Player frustration is very high, because the lack of interesting content is something that has accompanied the game since its release. Developers seem to have no idea how to develop the title and expand it with more missions modeled on those that have been present in the title for a long time. This time the studio went as far as to do something that angered players even more. For access to the already known tasks we have to pay with virtual currency, which is very difficult to get. However, you can also buy it by spending real money.
Controversial new content is not the only source of problems in Blood Money. The update is also responsible for numerous bugs that appeared in the game. Fans complain about problems with the first-person view when using the new scarves. Many people are also complaining about not being able to complete certain missions due to bugs. This is even more of an issues because they have to pay a fair amount of Capitale to access them, which they can't get back later.
In addition to donning the clown costumes, however, fans have nothing left to do but wait for possible fixes from Rockstar. Perhaps they'll also get content that finally meets their expectations. In the near future, the game will add more opportunities, or special operations that differ from the classic missions. However, it's hard to say whether this will be enough to appease the dissatisfied fans.
