RDR2 Will Hit Steam in a Few Days - Launch Date Revealed
Developers of Red Dead Redemption 2 confirmed the game's release date on Steam. The title will debut in early December, a few weeks after its launch on Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games' new digital distribution platform.
We know the official release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam. Rockstar confirmed on Twitter that the title will be released on Steam on December 5, a month after its launch on Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher, the developer's new digital distribution platform. The official game website has not yet appeared in the store, so we don't know what versions of the title will be available for sale or if the players will receive bonuses similar to those on other platforms.
Compared to the console versions, the devs have also prepared a number of important improvements. Drawing distances have been extended, global lighting has been improved, sharper textures of trees, plants, and animals have been implemented, and framerates higher than 60 fps is now available. The long-awaited port did not come without a ton of bigger and smaller technical issues, which still annoy fans and are gradually repaired by developers in subsequent patches.
Red Dead Redemption II originally launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October, last year. The game was a great success, selling more than 25 million copies. The game was also very warmly received by the industry media. The PS4 version has an average rating of 97% on Metacritic.
