RDR2 Most Likely Without PS5 and Xbox Series X Versions, Rockstar Believes Only in GTA
According to new reports, plans to develop a dedicated version of RDR2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles have been abandoned.
Reently, there have been credible reports, suggesting that Rockstar Games studio has deleted versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for the latest generation of consoles - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
- The source is Tez2, a leaker with a good reputation when it comes to leaks about Rockstar games.
- According to him, work on improved current-gen versions of RDR2 has been suspended. Plans to develop an improved version of the Rockstar Editor were also said to have been abandoned.
- This information should be approached with great caution, but it coincides with other reports. A few days ago, Rockstar Games informed about the reduction of support for Red Dead Online, the online module of RDR2. We can't expect any new content beyond small telegram missions and modest events.

The fact that Rockstar Games is stopping any serious development of Red Dead Online makes the decision to delete the current-gen versions, though unconfirmed, make sense. A few days ago we got credible reports suggesting that the plans to develop remasters of GTA 4 and the first Red Dead Redemption were also abandoned.
The developers have made no secret of the fact that they are currently focusing on Grand Theft Auto 6 and only GTA Online can receive new content. However, such explanation will not satisfy fans who were hoping for an improved version of RDR2. Red Dead Onlinefans have long been demanding faster development (they will even organize a virtual funeral of the game), but their requests remain unanswered.
