Rayman Returns - Only Not Like We Wanted Him to

During Ubisoft Forward, it was announced that Rayman will appear as one of the many characters available in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope - as long as you purchase the appropriate DLC.

It has been almost a decade since the release of the excellent Rayman Legends, but - unfortunately - Ubisoft does not anticipate releasing a new platform game. Instead, the title character of Rayman will visit the game Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. The iconic character will be playable, but will appear as part of a DLC. Additional content will be available for purchase on its own or can be obtained as part of the season pass that comes with the Gold Edition. The developers have announced a total of three expansions.

In addition, during Ubisoft Forward a seven-minute-long gameplay video was released (available below). As you watch, you'll see interactions with NPCs, a variety of locations on the planet Terra Flora or cinematic cutscenes. The main course, however, is a skirmish with the ferocious boss Wiggler, during which we can learn about the capabilities of selected characters.

The game is a crossover between Rabbids and Mario, developed in cooperation between Ubisoft and Nintendo. The player will be given a team of three (consisting of a variety of characters to choose from), with which they will perform many tasks as they explore the galaxy. Moving around the world will take place in real time, while skirmishes are turn-based.

The release of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will take place on October 20, this year, on Nintendo Switch.
