PUBG: New State Isn't Out Yet, and it's Already Getting a Lot of Attention
Already 17 million players have pre-registered for PUBG: New State, the mobile installment of the popular battle royale.
Announced in February this year, PUBG: New State isn't even out yet, and it's already really popular. With the closed alpha coming to an end, the developers have announced that at this point 17 million players have already pre-registered for PUBG: New State via Google Play and the App Store.
At this point, the exact release date of the mobile spin-off of PUBG is unknown but according to all reports, the game should be released later this year. As you may remember, PUBG: New State is to return to the roots of the battle royale game, while offering newcomers a good introduction to the genre. The setting will also differ from the PC original - the game will take place in 2051, so we'll get access to futuristic weapons and equipment.
Mobile version of Playerunknown's Battleground is not the only fresh production, which is being created in this universe. Two more titles set in the same world are being created under the wings of the publisher - KRAFTON: survival horror The Calisto Protocol (release scheduled for 2022), and a game codenamed Project COWBOY, the action of which is to take place in the Wild West. As you can see, the PUBG brand is gaining momentum, and subsequent projects look promising. We wait and watch, along with 17 million players signed up for New State.
