Square Enix Announces Project Triangle Strategy on Switch

Project Triangle Strategy is Square Enix's new title, coming exclusively to Switch. This time, the creators of Octopath Traveler have taken on the tactical jRPG genre.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Square Enix announced Project Triangle Strategy - a new game from the creators of Octopath Traveler;
  2. The title will be available exclusively on Switch. You can download the demo version today.

Project Triangle Strategy is a new game by Square Enix, which is being developed under the leadership of Tomoya Asano (creator of the Bravely Default series and Octopath Traveler, among others). The title will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in 2022. The game's publisher outside of Japan will be Nintendo.

After Octopath Traveler, Project Triangle Strategy is the second title in Square Enix's HD-2D series. This time, however, we are dealing with a tactical jRPG inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre.

The plot will focus around three nations competing for diminishing resources. The gameplay will take place in turns on multi-level boards, which we'll be able to use to our advantage - for example, we'll be able to electrocute units standing in water using the lightning spell.

A demo version of the game was made available in the Nintendo eShop, so those who own a Switch can check out how Project Triangle Strategy performs.
