Prison Architect launching today along with Escape Mode
Prison Architect is officially launching today on Steam. Day-one patch will expand the prison manager game by the Escape Mode, in which you switch roles and become an inmate in a high security jail trying to break free.
The day has come for Prison Architect to leave behind Early Access status and become a full game. The virtual prison manager is releasing on Steam today at 10 AM PDT. As promised, Introversion Software will give players a whole new play mode called Escape. This includes more than just breaking from prison. You become an inmate and do everything that computer AI could do so far – progress the character, rank up in prison hierarchy, create a gang, dig tunnels, and more. Here’s a fragment of a press release:
"Escape Mode sees the traditional Prison Architect gameplay turned on its head. Take control of an individual prisoner, load any of the tens of thousands of prisons uploaded to the Steam Workshop and get on with the important business of escaping. Earn experience points by shanking a guard, form up a posse of rough-necks and head to the armory to shoot your way out or steal some tools from the workshop and start digging a tunnel hidden behind a picture of Raquel Welch."
Prison Architect launched on Steam Early Access in September 2012. Since then, the game was bought 1.25 milion times, earning $19 milion dollars.
