Shattered Space Release; DLC to Revive Starfield
Today will see the release of Starfield: Shattered Space, the highly anticipated expansion to Bethesda's RPG.
In a few hours, Shattered Space will be released, which is the first major expansion for the space RPG Starfield. The expansion will hit PC and Xbox Series S/X.
- The DLC will be unlocked today at 8:00 a.m. PT.
- The price of the expansion is $29.99.
Starfield is available as part of a Game Pass subscription. Traditionally, this doesn't include DLCs. However, owners of this subscription can take advantage of a discount.
Starfield was met with mixed reception. The game received good reviews (the PC version has an average rating of 85% on Metacritic), but player reactions were much colder. On Steam, only 59% of user reviews praise Bethesda's space RPG.
The DLC Shattered Space was designed to solve some of the most serious problems of the base game. First of all, there is no chasing around empty worlds here. The entire story takes place on a single planet, which was entirely hand-designed. This should provide the joy of exploration typical of older Bethesda games that was missing in Starfield.
Unfortunately, no reviews have appeared online yet, so we don't know if Shattered Space will live up to the hopes placed in it. Tomorrow we will already have a preliminary insight into how the expansion was received - both by the player ratings on Steam and the degree to which the activity results of Starfield on this service have increased.
