PoE 2 update 0.2.0 is taking shape. New supporting skills appealed to players
We've received another dose of new features heading to Path of Exile 2 with the 0.2.0 update. This time, the developers unveiled some of the many additional supporting skills.
Path of Exile players recently received some new content in the form of the Legacy of Phrecia event, and now fans of the sequel are waiting for their turn. Grinding Gear Games has already announced the 0.2.0 update, which will be released within a month, but its content still largely remains a mystery. Before the weekend, we only learned about two unique items, but now the studio has revealed another batch of new features.
New support gems
New Zealanders published a post with a video on X, presenting five new support gems. The message stated that the 0.2.0 update for Path of Exile 2 will add "many" such abilities, so we can expect to be more of them. The focus was primarily on skills that lack broader options for selecting supporting gems.
The abilities presented by Grinding Gear Games are as follows:
- Derange - we will combine it with a damage-dealing ability. As a result, casting it will use up some of the "energy shield," but we will deal more damage;
- Volcanic Eruption - is intended for melee combat abilities. Causes a small volcanic eruption upon hitting a burning opponent;
- Embitter - causes all extra damage dealt by the combined ability to be converted into cold damage;
- Concot - a combined skill that uses part of our health, in exchange strengthening bleeding damage;
- Commiserate - boosts the effects (such as freezing, burning, bleeding, etc.) caused by a combined ability if we ourselves are affected by this condition (while also removing it).
Players mostly like the presented new features, which in their opinion will bring some freshness to character builds. Some people have already begun pairing them with the game's existing abilities and exploring possible combinations.
