We expect it's about the successor to Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

Trade mark databases have long been an excellent source of information on unannounced projects. The most recent example of this is the registration of the Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville title by Electronic Arts in Europe.

At the moment, it is not known what game will be called this way. Fans bet, however, that this is a shooter, which for the time being operates under the temporary title Picnic. At the end of last month invitations for closed tests of this project on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were sent to some users.

The same team that was responsible for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is working on Picnic. For some time now we have known that Electronic Arts has plans to continue this series, so it is possible that the project will eventually be called Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville.

It is worth recalling that this is not the only upcoming game from this franchise. A month ago, Plants vs. Zombies 3, a mobile strategy game returning to the roots of the cycle, was announced. Tests of the pre-alpha version have already started on Android, but so far they have a very limited range.
