Most of us have probably stumbled upon tycoon games at some point in our gaming life. One of the most prominent representatives of this genre is without a doubt RollerCoaster Tycoon, a series that has lately become dusty. When the first Planet Coaster was released in 2016, it was met with great reception. So, obviously, when the sequel, simply called Planet Coaster 2, launched yesterday, everyone expected greatness. Sadly, judging by Steam reviews, it is not as amazing as the original one. Players often complain about the technical state (crashes and not working saves mostly) of the title, simplification of UI, and subpar Frontier Workshop support. Due to that, many fans would like to check the production out without paying first. Since PC2 doesn’t have a demo, maybe it’s available in Game Pass? Let’s find out!

Is Planet Coaster 2 available in Game Pass?

Demo versions of games are slowly making their comeback, yet they are still not widely available. However, many players work around it by using Game Pass offered by Microsoft to test some productions. It is especially useful, if a title we’re interested in is doubtful for any reason. Such is sadly the case with Planet Coaster 2, which appears to underdeliver. Unfortunately, it is nowhere to be found on GP.

This makes some sense, as the developers would like to sell as many copies as possible when the game launches. Usually, the most important sales for the developer come from the first weeks since the release. When that trend falls down, to boost it up, we can see the discounts and eventually Game Pass release. Of course, there are titles available in GP from the very beginning, yet not all follow this pattern. Planet Coaster 2 is definitely one of them.

It doesn’t mean that it will never appear in Game Pass’ offer. The first production of this series was available in this subscription at some point, which means that we can assume the same might happen with the sequel. It is hard to predict when (and if) it will take place. If you are unsure whether to give this title a try, maybe wait a bit longer to see how the creators will respond to players’ concerns.
