Filled With Grief, Phil Spencer Announces Reveal of 'Microsoft's True Plans'
Phil Spencer referred to recent leaks, which have given us insight into many of Microsoft's plans for Xbox consoles and games.
Over the past few days, a number of documents from the legal proceedings related to the acceptance of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard have leaked onto the web. Thanks to them, we learned about Bethesda's upcoming games, plans for the new version of the Xbox X Series and the next generation of consoles, as well as unrealized ideas for the acquisition of Nintendo and Valve. Now the whole matter was addressed by head of the Xbox division Phil Spencer.
- He expressed regret that gamers found out about some of Microsoft's plans in such way. He also pointed out that many of them have changed since these documents were created. He also promised that the company will share the real plans when it is ready to do so.
- Spencer included similar information in a message to Microsoft employees. In it, he admitted that the corporation takes the blame for the leak and promised that it won't happen again.
- The latter statement is important, as some people accused the FTC (US Federal Trade Commission) of releasing the information. The organization issued a statement, in which it stressed that it was Microsoft that had inadvertently failed to remove the links to this information from public court documents, thus enabling anyone interested to access it.
What was leaked?
At this point, the documents with the links have already been removed, but the cat is out of the bag and the Internet is full of articles describing Microsoft's plans. If you want to see what they include, we encourage you to read our texts on the subject. Remember, however, that this information is a few years old, so some issues may have already changed.
