The new installment of Call of Duty series was released a few hours ago. Black Ops 6 is received by fans very warmly, especially its long campaign. However, the game seems far from ideal because of technical issues. First of all, many players have difficulties to launch the title on Steam and Game Pass. Even the water seems to be broken a little bit. BO6 has also some “traditional” problems. You can encounter FPS drops, stutters and various errors.

Stutters and FPS drops in BO6

Let’s start with stutters and FPS drops. Many players have noticed that the game does not run as smoothly as it should on their devices.

  1. The first thing you should check out is to lower your graphics settings, even if your device should handle the higher ones. Especially try different combinations of FSR and DLSS. Try to shift them or turn them off completely.
  2. Wait a little bit before joining the game. Try a firing range mode and give chance for shaders to load.
  3. Turn off all overlays and third-party programs running in the background.

This should make your gameplay smoother. Of course, it is not a fix, let’s hope that in the upcoming days, developers will publish some patches.

Crashes in BO6

Crashes are more difficult to fix. First of all, if you can’t launch Black Ops 6, you should check out the articles we have mentioned in the beginning – about Steam and Xbox Game Pass – as they have useful tips on these issues.

If you happen to have crashes in the middle of the gameplay or see various errors like Direct X, the problem is more complicated, as there are no fixes which are widely recognized as working ones. In such cases we can recommend some basic steps like verifying files and turning off unnecessary programs and overlays.
