People Can Fly Acquires American Studio Phosphor Games
People Can Fly - the studio known for shooters Painkiller, Bulletstorm and Outriders, among others - acquired Phosphor Games, which from now on will be known as People Can Fly Chicago.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- People Can Fly acquired the American company Phosphor Games;
- From now on the studio will be known as People Can Fly Chicago;
- This is one of the stages of the strategy defined on the occasion of PCF's IPO last year.
Polish company People Can Fly - known, among other things, for its online shooter with RPG elements Outriders - announced the acquisition of US developer Phosphor Games (creators of the horror game The Brookhaven Experiment). From now on, the studio will be known as People Can Fly Chicago.
“A new chapter opens for our team. We are very excited to be joining People Can Fly to open a brand new Triple-A studio – People Can Fly Chicago. Our goal is to strengthen PCF’s presence in the US and help build People Can Fly as a global brand," said Phosphor Games / People Can Fly Chicago head Justin Corcoran.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, CEO of the Polish company, is alsosatisfied with the enlargement of People Can Fly and appreciates the talent of the American team.
“Taking over the Phosphor Games’ team is simply an execution of our strategy, announced during PCF Group’s recent IPO. With the variety of on-going projects, we need well-seasoned, ambitious professionals to bring our plans to fruition. Considering Phosphor’s team experience and quality I’m sure they will be a great addition to the PCF family and will facilitate our growth. Welcome on board!," said Wojciechowski.
It's worth noting that, apart from Chicago, People Can Fly has teams in Warsaw, Rzeszow, Lodz, New York, Newcastle and Montreal. The Polish company is currently developing Outriders and working on two AAA productions (the first will be published by Square Enix and the second by Take-Two Interactive).
