Penacony in Honkai Star Rail (HSR) - Everything We Know
Penacony is speculated to be the next major location the protagonists of Honkai Star Rail will visit on their journey. Here is what we know about it so far.
In Honkai Star Rail, the party of the Nameless travels from planet to planet to solve mysteries and stop intergalactic crisises. The adventure on the Xianzhou Luofu is expected to come to the close in Patch 1.3, and the next destination is predicted to be Penacony. We have gathered information on this location based on official information and rumours.
Penacony – What we know
The information below is official and currently available in-game.
Penacony was mentioned by name in the Trailblaze Mission An Invitation Without Proffer. During a Navigation Meeting with the crew after the events on Jarilo-VI, Himeko suggested Penacony as the next destination for the Astral Express. The idea came from the planet issuing invitations to many factions for a mysterious event, for the first time in history. However, the Nameless changed their plans after a visit from Kafka, which starts the events on Xianzhou Luofu.
Welt provided more information; Penacony used to be a prison planet owned by the IPC, but when it was struck by a Stellaron outbreak, IPC lost control of it. Currently, the planet is under the protection of Aeon of Harmony, Xipe, and ruled by its followers, the Family.
Little is known about this group. One of the Memory Bubbles on the Herta Space Station describes a man investigating the Family. It suggests Family is a secretive organization, and people outside of Penacony aren’t sure if it really exists. The story ends in an ambiguous, disturbing manner. The man’s intentions appear to be revealed, and it is unknown if he survives.
Penacony – Rumored playable characters
The following sections of the article are based on rumours, which are subject to change. Please view them at your own discretion.
The lineup of currently leaked characters suggests that Penacony might be a melting pot of cultures. We don’t know yet if characters from many different factions meeting in one place will coexist peacefully, or cause a large-scale conflict. However, it seems the visit to Penacony creates an opportunity for Honkai Star Rail players to quickly learn a lot about the lore of the game.
According to a collection of posts from the HSR Leaks subreddit, the characters and influential groups we might see on Penacony are:
- Topaz, Aventurine – IPC,
- Screwllum, Ruan Mei – Genius Society,
- Argenti – Knights of Beauty,
- Hanabi – Masked Fools,
- Sam – Stellaron Hunters,
- Black Swan – Garden of Recollection.
The abovementioned characters have appeared in multiple leaks. They are speculated to be lined up for release following the remaining characters from the Xianzhou Luofu. However, players may see previously released banners rerunning for a period of time before that. Therefore, it is difficult to speculate about the release window for any of these rumoured units at present.
From the above list, some characters are more likely to appear in the next world than others. These are: Screwllum, who has already appeared in the game in Patch 1.1 as an NPC; and Ruan Mei, Topaz and Aventurine, who appear in currently obtainable Light Cone art.
Multiple leaks related to the lore of Knights of Beauty and Argenti himself strongly suggest that he will also come out with the next World. Check out our write-up on Argenti here.
Penacony – Rumored Trailblazer Path
Dimbreath on Twitter has provided leaks that the next Path the Trailblazer will unlock might be Harmony. This would be in line with the lore of Penacony, which is ruled by the Aeon of Harmony. The leak also mentions the new version of the protagonist being the Imaginary element. Since the upcoming playable 5 star character Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is confirmed to be Imaginary, the Trailblazer could possibly act as a support for him.
