PC Gaming Show E3 2019 Summary
Thirty games appeared on this year's PC Gaming Show, among them Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. In this summary you will read about all the titles that marked their presence at the conference.
This year's edition of the PC Gaming Show conference is already behind us. We got to know a number of new productions for the PC, and also saw in action some of the already known titles (mainly Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2). Without further ado, here is a summary of the event.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination
The first game to appear on the PC Gaming Show 2019 was Evil Genius 2: World Domination from Rebellion Studio. The British team presented a trailer which, although not composed of scenes taken out of the game, was based entirely on its mechanics.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
The second title that appeared at the conference was Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, which allows gamers to finally see the gameplay from this production that looks really good. The game promises to be dynamic and bloody, and the world of the game - appropriately dark. Looks like the Hardsuit Labs team knows exactly what they're going for. We will see how it has managed to restore the cult brand to its former glory in the first quarter of 2020.
Starmancer
The third place on the list of presented games is occupied by Starmancer, in which we take control over a group of people looking for a new home in space. Drifting through space aboard their ship, the protagonists have to take care of their food supplies and look for friends... or enemies.
Chivalry 2
Torn Banner Studios and Tripwire Interactive have established a collaboration that will result in Chivalry 2. The game, in which we will take part in medieval battles, looks nice and... bloody. Large-scale battles, killing peasants, letting go of entire villages with smoke and conquering fortresses - these are its main gimmicks. In addition, the creators have revamped the system of sword fighting to make it as accessible and satisfying as possible, while at the same time maintaining realism. The game will debut in early 2020 and will be available only on the Epic Games Store for a limited period of time.
Mosaic
Mosaic's trailer was a gloomy interlude. Take a look at this short video yourself.
Midnight Ghost Hunt
Midnight Ghost Hunt, the fruit of cooperation between a one-man studio Mellowsoft and Coffee Stain Studios, is already the production of a larger caliber. We are talking about a first-person action game in which we will try to make life miserable for the other players, who hunt with a wide range of futuristic weapons and gadgets. Of course, the spirit will not be defenseless - nothing will prevent him from taking control over the knight's armor placed in the corner or throwing furniture at his persecutors... because why not?
Unexplored 2
Then, we could take a look at Unexplored 2, which is the continuation of a production where we travel through procedurally generated locations, solve puzzles and eliminate opponents, gradually developing our combat potential... until we die - then, we have to start the whole process again.
Funcom
After a short presentation of Samsung's new video game monitor, Natascha Roosli from Funcom studio entered the stage and presented a number of titles from its publishing portfolio. These were Seed of Evil, a DLC to Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Conan Unconquered strategy game and the terrifying Moons of Madness (Cthulhu on Mars).
Conan Chop Chop Chop
Then, Philip Mayes from the Mighty Kingdom studio joined her – his work will be published by Funcom. His game is Conan: Chop Chop, which will debut on 3 September - a roguelike that looks like marriage of Conan the Barbarian and... Don't Starve.
Last Oasis
Last Oasis is a survival game designed for multiplayer gameplay. We hit the Earth after a powerful cataclysm, and during the course of the game, our main concern will be... well, as you can easily guess - broadly understood struggle for survival.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall
Then we could see the atmospheric trailer of Age of Wonders: Planetfall, which will debut on August 6th. The title representing the well-known and popular series of turn-based strategies departs from the fantastic setting-up characteristic of the previous installments of the series, in favour of science-fiction stylistics. The gameplay will focus on conquering territories, which of course will require a powerful army... for example, consisting of dinosaurs that shoot lasers.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War
Evil Genius 2 was not the only production that Rebellion studio presented at the PC Gaming Show. The conference was also graced by Zombie Army 4: Dead War, which received a spectacular trailer. People who aren't tired of shooting at "Second World War" zombies can start rubbing their hands.
Remnant: From the Ashes
The Gunfire Games team, which developed the third installment of the Darksiders series, is currently working on Remnant: From the Ashes. This time we are dealing with an action game designed mainly for cooperation. Accompanied by other players, we will travel through postapocalyptic locations, confronting various marauders. When? The title is due to debut on August 20th.
Griftlands
Griftlands, the new game of Klei Entertainment studio, was announced two years ago. Although there has been silence on the subject ever since, it is now starting to emerge from the shadows. No wonder - alpha-tests start tomorrow.
Planet Zoo
After Griftlands the representatives of Frontier Developments studio entered the stage and showed us the gameplay from the game Planet Zoo. We are talking about an economic strategy as a kind of spiritual successor to the popular Tycoon Zoo. If you are worried about how animals are treated in such places, you will be able to take matters into your own hands and create your own dream zoo. When? November 5th, this year.
Shenmue III
When Yu Suzuki appeared on stage, it became clear that we would hear about Shenmue III. The title, which Ys Net studio is working on, has a new trailer filled with scenes from the game. The production is destined for Epic Games Store and PlayStation 4, and will debut on November 19.
Songs of Conquest
Coffee Stain Studios team and Lavapotion team have established cooperation, which will result in a production reminiscent of the Heroes of Might & Magic series. We are talking about Songs of Conquest, which attracts attention thanks to its beautiful pixelart graphics. During the game we will explore the world, obtain resources, improve the city, recruit units and take part in turn-based battles with opponents. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
Warhammer: Vermintide 2
Next on the stage appeared Warhammer: Vermintide 2, or more precisely - a new gameplay variant prepared for it. As the name suggests, the Versus module will allow fun based on PvP principles. If you would like to try it out, you can sign up for its beta tests.
Per Aspera
Later we received a presentation of the game game Per Aspera, in which we will take control of Earth colonizers trying to establish a permanent base on Mars, and then adapt this barren globe to life.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey
Game Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is increasingly appearing in the media. The work of the Panache Digital Games team, led by Patrice Desilets, will allow us to take on the role of our monkey ancestors from ten million years ago, who explore the world and gradually develop into... well, human qualities. The game will debut on personal computers first, August 27th.
Auto Chess
Epic Games is the main sponsor of the PC Gaming Show conference, so it should come as no surprise that the next interruption was advertising the Epic Games Store. After a short presentation of the games available in it, we received information that his offer will include a game Auto Chess, based on record-breaking popularity of fashion for the game Dota 2, developed by the company... Valve Software.
Cris Tales
Another announcement concerned the game Cris Tales from Modus Games. The title is described as a "love letter to classic jRPG games". The game will take place simultaneously in the past, present and future. Sounds intriguing? So take a look at her trailer.
Valfaris
Then we received a much more dynamic trailer. Inspired by the cult Turrican, the Valfaris promises to be a sharp ride without a handle. Hordes of opponents and an incredible arsenal are a guarantee of enormous chaos.
Borderlands 3
The presentation of Valfaris was followed by a Q&A session with Paul Sage from the Gearbox Software studio. Of course, the subject was Borderlands 3.
Maneater
Remember the Maneater game? We're talking about an action RPG with an open world in which we play as a... shark. The production has a new trailer; we will see what the life of a great sea predator looks like, seeking revenge on its human oppressors... well, "soon." - Unfortunately, the creators have not yet shared the exact date of the premiere.
Terrariums: Journey's End
The game Terrariums also had its five minutes at the PC Gaming Show 2019 conference. The production will receive the last major expansion under the title of Journey's End.
Telling Lies
Later on, something for fans of Her Story appeared on the stage. We are talking about Telling Lies, which has a new trailer presenting it in action. As in the case of the first of these games, we are dealing with a production in which the lion's share of the time is spent watching recordings with real actors, gradually getting to know the successive fragments of the feature jigsaw puzzle.
Warframe: Empyrean
Warframe will see a new large extension, which has received a spectacular trailer. The DLC entitled Empyrean is supposed to be a big step forward for this production, and more details about it will be announced on 6 July, at Tennockon (an event dedicated entirely to the hit Digital Extremes studio).
Genesis Noir
After the dynamic video promoting the Warframe add-on, it's time for a calmer trailer. We're talking about Genesis Noir, a climatic adventure that takes place before and after... the Big Bang.
El Hijo
Then Handy Games showed the players a trailer of El Hijo, a stealing woman set in the Wild West, in which we play the role of a boy trying to escape from an orphanage run by monks, to find his missing father.
Baldur's Gate III
The conference was crowned with a performance by Sven Wincke from Larian Studios and Mike Mearls from Wizards of the Coast. Unfortunately, we didn't see the presentation of the gameplay from Baldur's Gate III; the creators simply told us about their work - they talked about how the cooperation of both entities began, about the story of the game and about the freedom that is to characterize the gameplay.
