Path of Exile - Conquerors of the Atlas and Metamorph Expansions Announced
During ExileCon 2019, two new expansions to Path of Exile were announced, which will be available to players in mid-December. The Conquerors of the Atlas and Metamorph expansions are part of a comprehensive 3.9 update of the game, which also makes numerous improvements to the gameplay mechanics.
At ExileCon 2019, held this weekend in Auckland, New Zealand, developers at Grinding Gear Games prepared numerous surprises for Path of Exile fans. The biggest of them was of course the announcement of Path of Exile 2, which will appear in 2021. However, in a few weeks' time, the players will receive the vast 3.9 update for the original game, which includes two expansions - PoE: Conquerors of the Atlas and PoE: Metamorph. They will debut on December 13 on PC, and a week later on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Path of Exile: Conquerors of the Atlas is an add-on for Path of Exile veterans who have completed its campaign and are not satisfied with the shape of the so-called endgame. With the 3.9 update, the construction of the world of Atlas will be redesigned (see below for details), and players will be given a range of new challenges and face five extremely powerful bosses. As a reward, a new type of gems will be waiting for them, among others.
In addition, Conquerors of the Atlas will also offer a lot of minor and major improvements and changes in various gameplay mechanics. The most important of them are to focus on bows. The devs will not only increase their damage, but will also add completely new attacks and skills to enhance the effectiveness of this weapon. Traditionally, fans will also find many new, powerful and rare items, as well as another portion of extra cosmetic items.
Path of Exile: Metamorph expansion introduces a new optional league. In a traditional PoE way, it modifies the rules of the game when starting the game with a newly created hero. At the start of the adventure, players will meet Tane Octavius, a dangerous experimental researcher who will occasionally join us in taking DNA samples from killed creatures. Once he has collected enough, we can ask him to synthesize a unique boss hybrid with their help, which has many different abilities and attacks from genetic material of the donors. The stronger the hybrid, the bigger the rewards will be for defeating it.
