Path of Exile - Blight DLC is Available
The long-awaited Blight DLC to the action RPG Path of Exile has been released. For the time being, only PC users can enjoy the expansion, but console players will join the game on Monday.
As announced, Grinding Gear Games released the Blight add-on to Path of Exile, a popular action RPG based on a free-to-play model with microtransactions. The expansion is currently only available for PC players, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will not have to wait long to get their versions released on Monday, September 9.
Blight introduces a new challenge league in which Sister Cassia asks players to help fight a fungal infection known as Blight, which can take control of the bodies of infected people.

DLC is interesting because it provides challenges that combine traditional Path of Exile action RPG mechanics with elements of tower defense strategy. The player's task is to destroy clusters of plague. As soon as we launch an attack on them, hordes of infected people set off to defend themselves.
Enemies always follow clear routes, making it easy to plan their elimination. In addition, it is possible to use automatic defensive turrets. There are many types to choose from, able to freeze, set fire to, paralyze and stun enemies, as well as electrocute them. There are also variants available to increase the stats of allies or summon meals. All in all, it provides interesting tasks, far different from the missions traditionally available in Path of Exile.
The expansion has also introduced oils that enable you to enhance items with new effects. The archetypes of the Necromancer, Poison Assassin and Mine Saboteur classes has also been anew developed and many new items of equipment have been added.
