Palworld remains popular and continues to set new records for the number of players playing at the same time on Steam. We found out from the latest post by the CEO of Pocket Pair studio how much money has been spent on the implementation of this inconspicuous project, which has attracted such a large community.

  • Takuro Mizobe - because he is the one in question - said that the game's development has so far cost one billion yen, or about $6.7 million.
  • Interestingly, the developer originally planned to develop the hit sandbox game within a year to avoid spending several years working on the same title. The main aim was to quickly develop a game, release it to the market right away, and observe the players' responses.
  • According to Mizobe, four people initially worked on Palworld. Then, the team grew to 10 developers, and after three years, it had 40 members. In this way, the game was brought to a state that allowed it to be released in early access.

Furthermore, in his extensive text, the CEO of Pocket Pair described Palworld as "far from finished." However, the title has already attracted thousands of players.

Spending $6.7 million on game development may not seem significant, but it's important to note that Palworld is still in production and needs extra funding. Even though the game was released in early access just three days ago, it has already sold over five million copies and is the third most popular title in Steam's history. It has also been included in Game Pass, so the demand for it surpasses the sales.
