Painkiller meets Quake in Inner Chains – new Unreal Engine 4-based FPS; Watch the first gameplay footageplay
Former employees of the developer team behind The Witcher series are working on Inner Chains – a new horror FPS that looks like a crossover between Painkiller and Quake. A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the game has just started.
If you’re looking for something between Painkiller and Quake, the guys from Telepath’s Tree may have just the thing. Telepath’s Tree is an independent Polish developer made up of former employees of CD Projekt RED (The Witcher), People Can Fly (Bulletstorm, Gears of War PC), and Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior). They are currently working on a surrealistic Unreal Engine 4-based horror FPS set in a unique, biomechanical universe and are now ready to show off their first gameplay trailer:
Inner Chains will take us into an inhospitable universe controlled by a religious group known as the Ruling Caste. Full of fanatical zeal, the protagonist will try to reach the mythical place known as Last Hope only to discover that nothing in this dark world is what it seems. The game will take you through a string of ominous locations, such as forgotten ruins, places of worship, caves, and forests filled with deadly creatures; each of these places tells its own unique story. In order to survive, you will need to demonstrate quick reflexes, good aim, logical thinking, and the ability to use the environment to your advantage. Telepath’s Tree is also promising VR support for greater immersion.
If you feel like venturing into such a world, help fund Inner Chains on Kickstarter. The developer asks only for $10,000 needed for animation and FX tweaks. You can also support the game on Steam Greenlight. Inner Chains is coming exclusively to PC and should be available in June 2016.
