Nvidia's New Technology Cuts Lag in Overwatch by Up to 50%
Overwatch players can test a new technology called Reflex. Created by Nvidia, the facility allows for reduction of system lag by up to 50 percent.
A new patch is available on the public test server of Overwatch, adding support for Nvidia technology called Reflex. According to Nvidia, it reduces system lag by up to 50 percent, which allows for better responsiveness of the PC during gameplay.
Nvidia Reflex system reduces the number of frames in the queue to be rendered by the GPU, which in turn reduces the load on the CPU. Data from the mouse and keyboard are then captured faster by the computer. The inspiration for the technology came from eSports competitions, which is why the company wants to see the system in tournament games like Fortnite, Valorant, or Call of Duty: Warzone.
The new feature is available to all owners of Nvidia GeForce GPUs from the GTX 900 series and above, who have downloaded the latest drivers. The technology is currently available only on the public test server and it is not known when it will appear in the official version of the game.
