Overwatch 2 Leak Suggests Release Date

There is a credible leak on the web, according to which Overwatch 2 will be available next February.

It's been almost a year since the announcement of Overwatch 2, a continuation of the hit shooter from Blizzard Entertainment. Nevertheless, so far the devs have not revealed even an approximate release date. That's why we welcomed new rumors with great interest.

According to these reports, Overwatch 2 will be available next February. That's when either the full version of the game will debut or beta-tests will start. Revealing the game's launch date is to be one of the attractions of the virtual BlizzOnlineevent. The source of this information is a fan known as Metro. He has a very good reputation when it comes to leaks concerning Blizzard's games. Previously, he has repeatedly published rumors about updates to the first Overwatch and about the content of the sequel, which over time turned out to be true.

Shortly after the game's announcement, the developers warned that the release date will most likely only be revealed during BlizzCon 2020, but the event was canceled due to the coronavirus situation. Shortly afterwards it was announced that the convention will be replaced by a virtual event called BlizzOnline, which will take place on February 2021 19-20.

If Blizzard was planning to reveal the release date of Overwatch 2 on BlizzCon 2020, it makes sense that due to the cancelation of the event the compant decided to postpone this announcement to BlizzOnline.

Let's recall that Overwatch 2 is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Only these hardware platforms have been confirmed for the time being, but we'd be surprised if the game didn't also go to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
