Overwatch 2 Faces Critical Bug; Important Update Delayed

We will have to wait longer for Mei's return to Overwatch 2. Due to the detection of critical issues, the latest update to the game has been delayed.

Overwatch 2, the sequel to Blizzard Entertainment's popular online shooter, faces numerous problems. The latest forced the devs to delay the return of a popular character.

  1. At the end of October, Mei was removed from Overwatch 2 due to bugs in the game caused by one of her skills.
  2. Mei was supposed to return no later than November 15, but the relevant update has been delayed due to the discovery of "critical issues".
  3. Fortunately, the delay will not be long. If all goes according to plan, the update will be released on November 17.
  4. Funnily enough, although Mei is not currently available in the game, new skins for the character are appearing in the in-game store all the time. The latest one is called Retro Star and costs $10.

Overwatch 2 debuted on October 4 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The game uses the F2P model.

The launch was not without problems. On the day of its debut Overwatch 2 became the target of DDoS attacks, and on top of that the game was plagued by other problems, causing, among other things, crashes and even reboots of PCs. Many of them have already been removed, but the situation is still short of ideal. In addition, many players are complaining about microtransactions.

These problems, however, have not prevented Overwatch 2 in gaining a lot of popularity. Last week, the devs boasted that more than 35 million people played the title within the first month of its release.
